Our "Berghem" is a typical Swedish yellow wooden house with a large garden around it and a wonderful view of lake Stora Le.

The nearest swimming spot is just a few steps down the hill – you could also moor the fishing boat there, which can be booked as an extra at a special rate.

The house is ideal for up to four people, but there's a rustic room up in the attic with four more beds, so you could even fit up to 8 people in the house – giving it a real Swedish summer house vibe.

You enter the house via a small terrace and step right into the built-on porch area, which has a cosy seating corner. Surrounded by windows, it's a lovely spot for your first coffee of the morning.

The kitchen is large and bright, and you can look out over the lake from the dining table. There's also a cosy living room with a log burner for chillier days.

Also on this floor are a small toilet and the two bedrooms. One bedroom has a double bed, and the second has two single beds.

Up in the attic, next to the third bedroom, there's another cosy open space with plenty of books to browse through.

The bathroom with a shower and the washing machine are located down in the basement.

From "Berghem", it's not far to the Villa Smile farm, where you can hire canoes, kayaks, motorboats or bikes, grab a coffee, buy homemade jam or apple juice from our own apple trees, and say hello to our Gotland sheep.

Down by the harbour in the small village of Nössemark, there's a little shop (open the whole year) and a nice restaurant open during the summer months. You'll also find a small sauna at the harbour, which is heated up every Saturday from 10 am to 9 pm. You can use it for 100 SEK (or €10, which you can just pop into the honesty box in cash).

The house is well-connected, so you can easily hop on the road to the nearest small town of Dals-Ed or head over to Halden in Norway. Dalsland has some beautiful places for a day out, along with beautiful nature that's perfect for walking, paddling, cycling, or fishing. During the summer months, there's also plenty of local culture to enjoy.
