Our cottage "Fridhem" is a typical swedish wooden house, painted mint green with white window frames.

It's a lovely spot for up to 6 people to spend their holiday, and you can even bring your dog along. There are two bedrooms in the house: one with a double bed and the other with bunk beds. Two more beds are tucked away as sleeping alcoves in the cosy living room. The spacious kitchen is perfect for cooking together, and the living room is a great place to relax.

On chillier days, feel free to light the log burner. There are two large terraces facing south and south-west. One of them is covered, so you can still sit outside comfortably on cooler summer evenings.

You're also welcome to hire one of our fishing boats at a special rate.

 

The house sits right on the edge of the forest, just 200 metres as the crow flies from the harbour, where you'll find a swimming spot, a small shop (open the whole year), and a summer restaurant. There's also a sauna down at the harbour, which is heated up every Saturday from 10 am to 9 pm. You can use it for 100 SEK (or €10, which you can just pop into the honesty box in cash).

If you follow the road past the house, you'll reach our farm, Villa Smile. Here you can hire canoes, kayaks or bikes, grab a coffee, buy homemade jam or apple juice from our own trees, and say hello to our Gotland sheep.

 

It's well-connected too, so you can easily hop on the road to the nearest small town of Dals-Ed or head over to Halden in Norway. Dalsland has some realy nice places for a day out, like the Tresticklan National Park, along with beautiful nature that's perfect for walking, paddling, cycling, or fishing. During the summer months, there's also plenty of local culture to enjoy.
